YANA’s mission is to provide help, guidance and support, by offering Monaco’s first and only pro-active platform for collective chat sessions.
We offer a safe and serene space where women facing isolation and hardship can come together, express themselves openly, rebuild, gradually regain self-confidence and realise they are not alone in their suffering. A unifying space where words can resonate with the unspoken and gently brush against other singular experiences and perspectives, free from judgement or imposed truths.
Lonely or withdrawn, ladies feeling lost or marginalised are welcomed at YANA, as are women victims of any form of violence. Women can come to YANA in full confidence that they will be heard, they will be helped and they will be supported in their healing.
The discussion groups aim to break the silence, facilitate social connections, and encourage reaching out to others in order to overcome the distress of loneliness. These informal meetings, led by the Clinical Psychologist specialising in women’s care, will foster a collective voice within a compassionate, enveloping and nurturing setting, where women are respected in their integrity and can begin to make sense of their experiences.
At the core, YANA strives to preserve women’s dignity and autonomy, while encouraging the benefits of sharing and exchange.
Suzanne is a Clinical Psychologist specialising in psychological trauma, and post-traumatic psychopathology, with advanced expertise working with women.
Of British origin, Suzanne is trilingual in English, French and German, and has 20 years of extensive experience working in hospitals and intervening in medical institutions across multiple countries. She currently works out of her own medical practice in the Principality.
At the heart of Suzanne’s initiative to create YANA is her personal conviction and deep commitment to helping women who find themselves isolated, with nowhere to turn. This solitude can be during or after a traumatic experience, or simply due to a particularly complex transitional period in life.
Suzanne’s guiding principle is that no woman should be left to suffer alone, driven into silence, isolation or alienation because of fear, confusion, shame, self-blame, humiliation, social stigma… Her foundational value is that every woman deserves to be heard: “You Are Not Alone”.
Delphine worked as a clinical psychologist for ten years at the Montpellier University Hospital and at a medical-educational institute. She is now a faculty member and researcher at Aix-Marseille University and serves as a visiting professor at universities in Brazil and Mexico.
Her research focuses on the clinical approach to and psychopathology of domestic violence, abuse, and extreme trauma.
Through her Monaco-based creative digital agency, Creative Compass, Valentina has gracefully provided all graphic design, website design, and communication services pro-bono for YANA.
As a woman who has lived abroad away from her family for many years, she herself has unfortunately faced hardship and isolation.
When she heard about the project to create YANA, she immediately offered her services to the association for free, in an effort to make this crucial and necessary initiative be visible online, hopefully reaching the women who need it the most.
